Born as Stuart Leslie Goddard on November 3, 1954 in Marylebone, London, England. Stuart attended Hornsey School of Art in London where he studied graphic design.

In 1976, he formed his first band called 'The B-sides'. He not only fronted the band as lead singer but also wrote the music. ‘The B-sides’ rehearsed a lot but never performed. But Stuart had found his calling.

Music was his greatest passion and would end up supporting him through a life of trials and tribulations. The first, being his transformation from Stuart to ‘Adam Ant’.
